Melody Bear®

KSTD welcomes the magical world of Melody Bear® – pre-school dance and movement classes taught by Kirsty Callender who is a licensed Melody Movement® teacher and Associate Member of the IDTA. Come and join in the fun with Melody Bear. Our classes are a fun introduction for young children to the world of dance. Melody Movement introduces children to dance and movement using the natural actions of the body such as running, walking, jumping, hopping, skipping and galloping.

It is a structured syllabus to aid children’s physical development, coordination, spatial awareness, creativity and self-expression, working individually, with a partner or as a group. Melody Movement also introduces children to other fundamental curriculum learning skills such as counting, colour and shape recognition, vocabulary and language skills.

The strength of the system is that learning is achieved through imaginative movement which is enjoyable and fun. Little Bear Feet with Melody Bear is a creative syllabus for children aged approximately 18 months upwards. It has been devised to prepare children for the Melody Movement syllabus. KSTD runs generic classes using both syllabi to enable children from 18 months to school age to attend any of the classes we run.

Little Bear Feet with Melody Bear outlines a class plan that is based on Melody Bear’s journey to her land of nursery rhymes. The action songs and movement ideas are suitable for all pre-school aged children.
