Workshops led by Musical Theatre Workshops created by KSTD teachers Kirsty Callender and Hayley Raybone
Keyworth School of Theatre Dance (KSTD), founded in 1976, is based at the Webster Hall, Nottingham Road, Keyworth and has over 200 pupils from Keyworth and surrounding villages. It provides tuition in Classical Ballet (including Pointe), Contemporary Ballet, Tap (including Adult), Modern Jazz, Street Dance, Cheerleading, Theatre Craft, Musical Theatre, Irish Riverdance, Jazz and Singing. Dance workshops are also held in the school holidays.
KSTD is licensed to teach Melody Movement and Little Bear Feet with Melody Bear® pre school dance and movement classes. Our classes are a fun introduction for young children to the world of dance. Melody Movement introduces children to dance and movement using the natural actions of the body such as running, walking, jumping, hopping, skipping and galloping.
KSTD has over 70 years of teaching experience and pupils are given training to take examinations with the International Dance Teachers’ Association (IDTA) and have the opportunity to participate in dancing shows. The school has organised many shows and events over the years, raising many thousands of pounds for various charities.
KSTD has also been active in assisting community events and has performed at many venues throughout the East Midlands. There have been many successes over the years in competitions, festivals and examinations and some pupils have successfully auditioned for stage, television, pantomime and prestigious full – time dance colleges.
“All you require is the love of dance and the desire to learn – our team of experienced teachers will do the rest”
Classes are designed for all pupils who love to dance whatever their abilities. The school is very proud of its warm and friendly atmosphere and always welcomes newcomers.
